Richard Gakuru, 8, is said to have drowned in a private dam at Gingalili area where he had gone to search for herbs known as managu on the evening of the said day.
As destiny would have it, the kid who was purportedly joined by his companions, took long to return home prompting to his frightened guardians and neighbors to dispatch a search party. The occupants were stunned after they discovered his garments alongside the dam.
Driven by area ward MCA Nderitu Mwangi, who is a previous Kenya Navy officer, the inhabitants swam over the dam in a wild eyed hunt down for the missing kid.
Mwangi however said the pursuit that endured 6 hours unfortunately did not
