Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru had several altercations with Members of Parliament (MPs) during her grilling on Thursday morning.
Appearing before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), the session kept on being interrupted as Waiguru and the MPs differed on the mode of conducting the proceedings with each party preferring to have things done their way.
The grilling kicked off with a storm after the former CS demanded assurance from the Chairman of PAC, Nicholas Gumbo, that the committee was only interested in the truth and did not have any prejudice against her.
She started by putting members of the committee on their defence claiming they had been asking leading questions to some of the witnesses including businesswoman Josephine Kabura and Ben Gethi who had previously been questioned on their involvement in the Sh1.6 Billion loot at NYS.
“I seek your assurance before we proceed that this committee is guided by none other than its mandate to seek the truth under the law,”
she stated.
